My questions...your answers
How many did you want?
Published on July 17, 2006 By Question of the Day In Parenting
I always thougth when I was young that I would have three children. I don't have any - can't have any. Sometimes it makes me sad but mostly I'm OK with it. It makes my life much more simple and flexible than many of my friends who do have children.

So my questions to you are:
1. How many did you think you want?
2. How many did you have?
3. How old were you when they were born?

Hmmm,

I never thought about how many I'd have or want, until they got here.....only planned the last one, and she was #5.

I was 18 when the first one arrived....he's now 25 and the youngest is 11...........in between they're 23, 21, and 17...you do the math on my age at birth.

I wanted more than two but three was more than enough. I have three boys. I was 22, 25, and 28 when I had them.

Enjoy the youth!  Boys?  Where do you think we get grey hair from.

1. How many did you think you want?

Don't know, since I'm not sure if I'm done yet.

2. How many did you have?

We have two sons right now with a daughter on the way.

3. How old were you when they were born?

18, 21, and 27 with the new little one (due in Nov). If we have another one, it will be within the next 5 years hopefully.

I always figured I'd have 2 or 3

I'm pregnant with #3 and am not totally ruling out another but we'll see how this one goes

I was 26 with the 1st, about to turn 30 with the 2nd and will be 36 this time around.

When it comes to having babies, there's only so much control you have over when or if you have them. I would have thought mine would have been closer together and I would be certainly done having babies by now. We had two miscarriages between the first two and life got super busy between the last two. I'm just thrilled and thankful to have them.

I don't have any yet, but I've always wanted four. Parents I've told this to think this is hilarious...and say that I will change my mind for sure once I have my first.

1. Wanted 3
2. Had 0.
3. NA

I think the older you get the less you want to have kids unless you're super wealthy and can afford nannies and such.
