My questions...your answers
Published on August 6, 2006 By Question of the Day In Pets & Nature
My new bunny is home. He's a boy. I still haven't picked a name. He's a californian rabbit which means that he's mosly white with black feet, ears and nose. His eyes are pink. He's soooo cute and sooo friendly already.

How do I post a picture of him?

How about Peter? As in Peter Rabbit?

You just described my favorite rabbit I had when I was a kid. White with pink eyes and called a Californian Rabbit. Got her at Easter and her name was Muffin. She was fat and round. She died at three of cancer. Couldn't believe it. A rabbit with cancer? But she was house trained. She would do her thing down in the basement on newspapers. She was wicked smart and would come running when we called her.

Good luck with your new pet.

She died at three of cancer

Unfortunately It's pretty common for them to die of cancer at a young age. I've read that having them spayed or neutered can help. My previous two bunnies were both fixed and lived to be 7 and 9. I'll most likely get this one fixed too. He'll be a house bunny and get lots of freedom if he does well with his litter training. My other ones went in a litter box filled with rabbit pellets(food) and hay. One was more routine about it than the other.
