My questions...your answers
My husband and I split things up pretty fairly and evenly:

His chores:
laundry (he does it better than I do)
cooking (ditto)
vacuuming (because it makes my back hurt)
getting the mail
Ironing - mostly for himself but he'll do mine when I ask

My chores:
Washing the Dishes
Cleaning the bathrooms
Mopping the floors
dusting

Houw about you? What's the division of labor in your household?

I do almost everything or it doesn't get done. Socrates does the napping and occassionally will help out with the knocking stuff onto the floor.

His: Lawn care, Car care, Grocery shopping, Vacuum, unloads the dishwasher.

Mine: Bathroom, Floors, Windows & curtains, dusting, load the dishwasher.

We both do laundry, change the sheets, and cooking.
Cat - same as Socrates: sleeping, eating, and knocks stuff onto the floor.

Me: sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, dishes 60% of the timelaundry, general cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms, cooking 70% of the time and most of the grocery shopping.

Him: We have people come to take care of the lawn, but if it needs an extra trim he does it. He also picks up the other 40% of the dishes and 30% of the cooking.  I can't recall the last time he swept or mopped the floors.  I do recall the last time he cleaned the bath tub though - it was when I was recovering from surgery last year.

He works full time and provides the income for our family.  I stay home full time.  Taking care of the chores seems like a fair trade to me - and he DOES help out when he can.

Laundry - I do this constantly.
Cooking - Most meals.
Vacuuming - I suppose I should get around to this, it has been about six months.
Getting the mail - I get Sundays off on this one.
Ironing - ACUs rule! No more ironing.
Washing the dishes - When I have to.
Cleaning the bathrooms - I usually swipe at it a time or two when I use it.
Mopping the floors - Nope.
Dusting - Again, no.

Anything divided by 1 is... a good way to get me to work, but only to the standard I need to.

I'm at home so its my job to make sure everything at home is taken care of inside and out. However, if he is around he tends to like mowing the lawn...but I do that as well.

My husband is great because if he sees something needs done. He does it. He doesn't wait for me to do it. From feeding the kids, throwing a load of laundry in, general things like that. Now if he could just manage being home for three weeks in a row....we'd be rockin.

Hmm....

How do we split things? That's ... hard to say.

Cooking? Me about 95% of the time (I'm better at it and I love to cook and it relaxes me after a long day at the office).
Cleaning? The slave labor, er uhm, the kids, do a lot of the straightening up, dishes, vacuuming and laundry (except folding the clothes, we do that part). They make 90% of the mess, so it's fair that they help clean up 90% of the mess...

I do everything, but am slowly getting my daughter used to the idea that she's no longer just a little kid deviod of responsibility. Lately, she's been responsible for recycling, making sure the bathroom sink and counter is clean, bringing dishes into the kitchen, and that all lights and doors are locked for the night (I do a recheck afterwards.) She also had to make sure the laundry is properly sorted and ready for washing which I do. She's eight, and is fighting it hard!

Har, har.....I agree with the if they mess it clean it part! Now if only my kids will do the same.....I'm kidding, they do it after much cajoling and threatening loss of something they love!

When he was on the night shift, my hubby would do 90% of the cooking
he does the laundry, really we split it
he takes care of the fish tank
sometimes feeds the kids, even when they don't want to be fed! They'll get up and don't want to eat anything I offer to prepare and then when we go out (this is on the weekends) they'll all be feint with hunger, literally!)

He's on the day shift now, so I do majority of the cooking right now, but he'll help out as well. Sometimes I'll start it and he finishes it.

As I said we share the laundry duties, my oldest does her own. He folds and stuff but usually I have to do it over.

He does his own ironing. I hate it with a passion! He'll do mine if I ask!

My oldest cleans their bathroom, does the dishes from Sunday to Thursday. I do them Friday to Saturday. Although we will chip in when she's overwhelmed.

I clean our bathroom, do the vacuuming and dusting. My little one loves to chip in on the vacuuming and dusting, and sometimes folding of the clothes.

My son, he's responsible for his room and keeping the sink from getting flooded when he uses it!

I told him he's going to start helping with the dishes and taking turns cleaning the bathroom with his sister, they're the only two who uses it.
