My questions...your answers
Published on August 9, 2006 By Question of the Day In Personal Relationships
I'm married. Been married for three years now. This is my second. The first one didn't work out due to the usual financial issues. I said I'd never get divorced, but the guy lost it when his mom died and I came home one day to find $25k in cc debt. Surprise, Surprise!

How about you?

Yes, 19 years in October...I think.

(I always get our total marriage time mixed up with another important life event...heh. They are only a year apart and well....I suck at remembering dates. I still have to write my anniversary on the calendar or I forget it.)

Congrats!

....I suck at remembering dates.

haa haa! Me too. My husband is actually the one that remembers all the firsts!

Will be 10 years on December 31, 2006. It's hard to believ after the first coupe of years that we have made it this long but it is easy to see why. We belong together. No one else would have us.

Mine too!

And when he forgets it'll be a month or so gone and one of us will be like, "Um did we forget.....?"

Yup!

Yes.  We've been together 13  years and have been married for 12.

Like JJ, we're meant to be together.  Nobody else would have us, either.

Seriously, we love each other, and whilst working at a marriage can be difficult sometimes it's the most rewarding things I've ever done.

Let's see ... we've been together for almost 15 years now and married for almost 12. Sometimes it feels like it CAN'T be that long but on other days ... She completes me so well, it feels like she's always been there.

My first ended when my wife of 2 months chose her extramarital-boyfriend over me. I'd like to say that Iwas young and impetuous, but truth is I was 30 and I'd been with her 6 years.

I've chronicled my second marriage extensively on my blog. It is the best decision I ever made. It'll be four years in November.

My husband and I have been together for 23 years, 14 of which as a married couple.

We're working on our 25th next Valentine's Day. How sappy is that? We dated a year before that so we've been together almost 26 years.

When I got married I said it was for life and I meant it...even in the not so good times in the beginning I knew I was in for life. It was worth sticking thru and we are very happily married.

I also have a feeling that you have NO CLUE how bad the bad times can get for some of us.

well you'd be right. I've never claimed that my life was as bad as yours LW. Why do you so like to antaganize? We all go thru hard times in marriage. Some harder than others.

Bet you'd change your mind pretty quickly if he started kicking your face in every friday night after a case of beer and a months rent worth of cocaine.

you're right again. I would. The difference between you and me? I never would have married him in the first place. Are you telling me you saw no red flags beforehand?

I'm really sorry to hear this happen to you but again, did He drag you to the altar?
